In the Eucharist, we receive the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. It unites us more deeply with the Lord and nourishes our souls with His grace.  

Before a child receives the Eucharist for the first time, a period of spiritual and educational preparation precedes the reception. At St. Barnabas Parish, baptized children receive their First Holy Communion in the 2nd grade. Baptized adults who never received First Holy Communion go through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) process.  For more information, please contact the Parish Office.
