In the Sacrament of Confirmation, a baptized person receives “the full outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the Apostles on the day of Pentecost” (CCC 1302). Once the person has received Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation, he or she becomes fully initiated into the Catholic faith and a true witness of Jesus Christ. Thus, Confirmation is the Sacrament a Christian has been preparing for on his or her faith journey since baptism in order to bring the grace of baptism to completion.
Preparation for Confirmation takes place at 8th grade for St. Barnabas youths. For students who are older and wish to prepare for Confirmation, please contact Joe Sheehan, Director of Faith Formation, at jsheehan@stbindy.org for more information.
We also offer the opportunity for adults who are not yet confirmed to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please contact Joe Sheehan for more details.
