Becoming Catholic
Each year on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil, thousands are baptized into the Catholic Church in the United States. Parishes welcome these new Catholics through a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
Although these sessions are geared towards those learning about Catholicism for the first time, all are welcome to attend!

Small Church Communities
A Small Church Community (SCC) is a small group of adults who gather to reflect on their lives in light of the Gospel and to share their Christian faith through prayer, friendship, and service. Early Christians gathered in small groups that allowed deep conversations about faith and life. Today, SCCs facilitate this sharing and reflection among trusted friends. The connection of faith and life leads to action on behalf of others. Although each SCC is unique in its membership, style, and meeting format, every SCC contains the following elements:
· Prayer: Individual and group prayers are essential to the life of the community.
· Support: As groups become bonded, support and concern for each other is a natural outcome.
· Reflection: Challenging each other to reach a deeper understanding of the Gospels and the relevance they have in our lives today.
· Participation: SCCs are an essential part of the broader St. Barnabas community and universal church. Groups are encouraged to participate in activities that help strengthen the greater good of all.
· Action: Striving to further the mission of Jesus and deepen relationships with God.
Welcome (CRHP 2.0)
"Welcome" is an overnight weekend experience for parishioners given by men or women who have previously attended "Welcome" (or Christ Renews His Parish) at St. Barnabas. Through fellowship, faith sharing, hospitality, music, individual and group activities, Mass, and more, participants have the opportunity to step back from the everyday to reflect on their lives and their spiritual journeys and build meaningful relationships with other men or women in the parish.
Ministry of Mothers Sharing (MOMS)
This is a ministry to foster personal and spiritual growth to mothers of all ages. The MOMS core team presents eight week sessions for mothers/grandmothers, who desire to grow spiritually and personally in their ministry of Motherhood. Sessions are offered in January - one "over 40" group and one "younger" group. For more information on how to participate, e-mail saintbarnabasmoms@gmail.com
