As the universal Catholic Church, we have a responsibility to present Christ as irresistible to the yearning heart. At the parish level, it is our job to provide those yearning hearts with opportunities to grow closer to Christ.

Formation Nights
On Thursday evenings beginning August 29, 2019, we will be coming together as a parish community to dive deeper into the Catholic faith. The Roman Catholic tradition is enriched with timeless wisdom, and Fr. Mahan will be giving a series of presentations to equip you to live the tradition yourself and with your families; all are welcome, any Thursday! Keep an ear open the weekend of September 21-22 for homilies on this very subject.

Small Church Communities
A Small Church Community (SCC) is a small group of adults who gather to reflect on their lives in light of the Gospel and to share their Christian faith through prayer, friendship, and service. Early Christians gathered in small groups that allowed deep conversations about faith and life. Today, SCCs facilitate this sharing and reflection among trusted friends. The connection of faith and life leads to action on behalf of others. Although each SCC is unique in its membership, style, and meeting format, every SCC contains the following elements:
· Prayer: Individual and group prayers are essential to the life of the community.
· Support: As groups become bonded, support and concern for each other is a natural outcome.
· Reflection: Challenging each other to reach a deeper understanding of the Gospels and the relevance they have in our lives today.
· Participation: SCCs are an essential part of the broader St. Barnabas community and universal church. Groups are encouraged to participate in activities that help strengthen the greater good of all.
· Action: Striving to further the mission of Jesus and deepen relationships with God.
"A Gathering of Friends" is a dinner hosted by SCC, it will be at St. Barnabas on October 26, 2019. This is meant to serve as an introduction to Small Church, but you may join a group at anytime throughout the year. Contact Christine Helle at chelle@stbindy.org for more information on how.
